Welcome to Palmersheim Dettmann, S.C. (formerly Haley Palmersheim, S.C.) 1

So we changed our name to Palmersheim Dettmann, S.C., and I’m sure you have questions, like: Why the new name? Has anything else changed? Exactly how many Germans does it take to run a law firm?

After 22 years as Haley Palmersheim, S.C., the new name simply reflects who we already are, and not a change in the type or quality of legal work we provide. About seven years ago our former name partner, Tom Haley, moved to being of-counsel and until this year I was the sole attorney-owner. Beginning in 2018 Cathleen Dettmann joined me as an owner of our 5-attorney law firm.

For those of you who do not know Cathleen, she is an outstanding trial attorney in addition to being adept at advising companies and drafting agreements in business and estate planning. She has taken multiple business cases to trial, with successful jury verdicts to show for it, as well as coordinated with me on growing our business law practice to provide outside general counsel to businesses, and to provide our clients with related services such as estate and succession planning, employer-side immigration, and real estate.

It made sense to have our name reflect our leadership, while still conveying that everyone on the Palmersheim Dettmann team is ready and able to provide business litigation and business law services that are rated among the very best by and among our peers.

Attorney Erin Rome is an accomplished business trial attorney, as well as being experienced at providing employment law, contract and other transactional advice to our business clients. Attorney Nikki Schram is a business law attorney who also gives our clients outstanding service in the areas of real estate and immigration for employers needing special employee expertise. Bethany Wilson skillfully provides business law and contract advice to clients, in addition to expanding our international business services based on her past experience working in China for two years.

Christine Copus is our go-to person for corporation and LLC services, as well as other litigation and business law support, and Lori Hanson is not only adept at all of our legal support needs but, as our office manager, she is the one who keeps us on track and allows us to live up to the German efficiency our name implies – such as making sure this blog entry was completed by me, and posted timely to the website.

We at Palmersheim Dettmann remain a team of diverse backgrounds and interests who have developed into a cohesive family of legal service providers, who truly enjoy working for our clients and with each other. Cathleen also asked me to emphasize that the two of us are collectively more Irish than German. That means we’re not only organized, we’re also creative and optimistic – and perhaps with a few more freckles.
